I saw this before I finished the game and it made expect a lot more than there actually was to substance abuse. You have to be real bad to get anything, I basically walked around the whole game on something, and like they say I was making sure to do everything I had before trying skill checks and I got no negative consequences. At the end they called me a drunk piece of shit but they’d been calling me a drunk piece of shit the whole game. I still solved the mystery, Kim still came to my defence and talked about how I was a good detective and everyone ultimately said I did a good job and took me back to the station. This game is definitely one of my favourites of all time, and it definitely does a good job building reliances on narcotics into the game mechanics, but when it came to showing the harm to your reliance it felt lacking
