You're getting the same comments this sort of post usually gets, but the sub really has gotten noticeably worse since about 10,000 subscribers and/or the influx of posters from /r/drama, on both a political and "tendency to fall for insanely obvious bait" level. Mostly the nature of how a sub grows, and unfortunately there's probably not much to be done about it without ratcheting up moderation to the point where it would create it's own set of problems.
I stick around despite rolling my eyes at a lot of the front page these days cause I still basically agree with the perspectives in the sidebar, and it's the only political sub I know of that's not either too formal/technical for my dumb guy brain to handle or a complete circlejerk of boomer-tier schlock and Twitter reposts like /r/Chapo became.
