King Spa and Sauna in Dallas, TX

UPDATE:

My SO and I finally went to the spa and it was EVERYTHING I could have dreamed of and MORE. We went at 8AM, scheduled our scrubs at 10AM, and separated to the wet sauna areas.

I rotated between the three hot tubs (the tea tub was my favorite), then I would get in the little hydrotherapy jet tub, then the steam sauna (my second favorite part of the wet sauna area), and then I would dip in the cold 61 degree F pool - completely submerge - because I'm weird and I love how I would go kind of numb. I obviously showered between all of these steps except between the three hot tubs, and no one seemed to have a problem with it. I ended up doing this rotation like 3-4 times before my vital scrub.

The scrub was 40 minutes long and $70 - the amount of dead skin that came off of my body was INSANE. I keep an Italy towel in my shower at home and I've never gotten that much dead skin off. My bum cheeks are SO soft I want the world to feel them. Which would be inappropriate. After the scrub I went to the 'water park'. Before I talk about the park, I need to acknowledge the nakedness.

Nakedness. I'm not a fan. Sometimes I will cover my stomach with my hands in front of my SO which is completely ridiculous, I know. My mom hasn't seen me naked since I was like five, and as with almost every female, I've had my fair share of body image issues, even at freaking 24 years old. ANYWAYS. Being at the spa made me appreciate my body and not for the reasons you might think. There were women of every size, shape, and color, and no one cared or stared. Everyone was at the spa because they wanted to relax and take care of their bodies. Now, if we care enough about our bodies and will spend as much time as we do pampering them, why should we spend time worrying about a roll in our stomachs or cottage cheese on our thighs. Being self conscious about these trouble areas doesn't change them and it really isn't good for our mental health. Most of the time they can be fixed with diet and exercise (mostly diet),and it is a problem that can't be fixed overnight, like our skin. With all that being said, I decided to strut my stuff. By the end I was getting in and out of the pools like no one was watching, I even had a conversation with a woman in the tea tub with both of our tits just floatin around. I can truthfully say that going to the spa and being naked in front of a ton of people has changed the way I feel about my body. It taught me to love it and flaunt it, even if it isn't perfect. This epiphany happened in like two hours haha. Two hours in a Korean spa changed the way I've felt about my body for 15+ years...amazing.

WATER PARK was fun! They have a bunch of jets, some are underwater and some above. There is usually something to hold onto so you don't get pushed away from the force of the jet. We only spent about an hour in the water park area, he liked the bar and the drinks were actually strong. After that we both changed into our weird outfits and had lunch.

Food was amazing. Then it was dry sauna time!

This is where I fucked up. I go into the pine salt room which is a little warm and I brought my sheet mask with me. I had an IPKN Dia-Goat Milk Black Mask which supposedly has "fresh NZ goat milk and real diamond powder-in premium charcoal, Bincho-tan". I love it. I think I love all black sheet masks, my skin always looks the best after them. Anyways, put my sheet mask on and immediately fall asleep...for an hour. I wake up confused, sweaty, and alone. And maybe a bit dehydrated. walk outside SO is sleeping on a recliner and we decide to leave since it's 4pm and we're both exhausted. Probably dehydrated.

I didn't do any other dry saunas which makes me mad but gives me a reason to go back soon. Overall experience was a 10/10.

Things I WILL do differently:

*Bring my own towel. I brought one and left it in the car because I had second thoughts...dumb. you had to rent big towels for a dollar and you only got one small towel for your hair.

*Bring a water bottle

I live in Houston :( but I'm definitely going back in the next three months if anyone wants to carpool!!! Thanks for reading if you did - soooo long
