Why the Knicks should not draft Okafor

I think you're overthinking the draft a little bit. Both of these guys are nowhere close to being finished products. The way they play in college is just an indication of the way they will develop, not a set mold for them.

You make the point that Okafor is one dimensional and can only score. He is much more talented than that. From what I've been able to watch, I taken away that he can score at will in college and has extremely good court vision. The underrated part of this game is the way he tries to get his team involved. When he receives the ball above the block, he immediately palms it and tries to read the defense. From that point he can pass it to anywhere on the court.

Got a guy whose defender is falling asleep. Bam, he can hit that guy. Got a guy cutting through the lane. Bam, he can hit that guy

Defensively he is nowhere near Town's level but its important to note he is not bad defensively, rather he seems to struggle with quicker finishing guards. He has a big and strong body, if he learns how to read an offense like he can read a defense, then he will learn to contest shots with his size ala Roy Hibbert(note Hibbert is the best at this and I'm not saying he will be Hibbert, rather he can learn that style). He is not a bad rebounder and he boxes out quite well, it just seems he is content to let his teammate grab the ball. Athletically, he is slower and not as strong as Towns, but its important to note that he is 19 and a lot can change. Towns is different type of defender to me, more in the mold of a Joakim Noah. Much more active and uses his athleticism to force his opponent to make mistakes. Its harder to assess Towns because Kentucky is so good and that makes it harder to get a good feeling on a player but I see him as better all allround version of Noah. Okafor ceiling would be a Demarcus Cousins type player if he ever develops a handle on the ball.

TL:DR Don't worry they are both good and multi-dimensional players, its going to come down to which player has the better workouts in front of teams.
