Last day of school and this happens.

Teaching performance and/or (get that, son?) research performance. You can have professional educators and professional researchers who are specialized, and a few who do both.

You running your figurative mouth on here indicates to me that you fear objective evaluations. Some professors I've worked with literally have it written in their employment contracts that they (quantitative evals) are not permitted, while others have the union pushing that same bullshit for all of them. You want to paddle along in your little bubble edu-ecosystem and be left alone on the public dime.

Also, I'm a software engineer who has worked with research scientists for years and in DOD; don't tell me about burnout. I'll show you the 80+ hour weeks I've done in the civilian sector and while active duty in the military. I've also worked as an adjunct not for the money (heh), but to pass on the knowledge, wisdom, and heuristics in my field.
