Leaf Tails

uroplatus are absolutely a dream reptile, they are so spectacular. however, you aren't likely to find a captive bred specimen for less than a thousand USD, and i have seen breeders selling them in unrelated pairs. i would get on a waiting list ASAP if you're interested in keeping one!!

as far as their care, humidity and temps fall within approximately the same range as new caledonians, however hydration is VITAL and they will benefit from daily mistings. overall temperatures should be in the low to mid 70s. however there are several different subspecies of leaf tail geckos and you should be diligent about researching the specific animal you are interested in caring for.

they are also insectivores, so a variety of live feeders with calcium supplementation will be the way to go. :)

i wish we had more information on these incredible little ones in captivity. it would be amazing to own one, and i hope you are able to get your hands on a domestically produced individual or two!
