Leopards often haul their kill up to a tree to keep it safe from scavengers

Leopards can be found in sub-Saharan Africa, northeast Africa, Central Asia, India, and China. However, many of their populations are endangered, especially outside of Africa. Leopards are very strong and comfortable in the trees. They often haul their kills into the tree branches to keep it safe crom scavengers such as hyenas. Leopards also hunt from trees, their spotted coats allow them to blend in with he leaves until they pounce. They stalk antelope, deep and pigs; leopards are also strong swimmers where they eat fish or crabs. Leopards are solitary animals and as cubs they will stay with their mother for about two years. Most leopards are light colored with dark spots called rosettes. Leopards can also be black and are often called black panthers, which is an umbrella term for any big cat with a black coat. This melanistic black color variant is more often seen in Asia than Africa, but generally it is uncommon for them to be this color.
