For those of you who has a kid for your partner more than yourself. Did it work out?

I have the opposite situation with my wife. She has agreed to have a child, but we are negotiating specifics. She wants to maintain her work life, so daycare will be necessary. I will assume primary caregiving status generally. We are able to do this because both of our schedules are predictable. I’ll also have to create space for her by taking the hypothetical child out of the house regularly for her to recover.

In your situation, it should be relatively easier since women generally assume more responsibility for caregiving and are able to provide food easily for the first year of life. You might just need some way to signal that you need to recharge.
