That’s kinda what I figured, that it is very much a reactionary defense of obviously fallible or outright deplorable powers who represent that persons hatred of the US and that kind of conspiracy mindset of ”what has been hidden from me?”.

I wish we as leftists would abandon the hope of a perfect socialist utopia or nation and instead look to the idea that a true nation is in the hearts and minds of those who hold values, that this is the best way to elevate our beliefs to the world. Why not create a nation of leftism that is without borders, but resides in a hundred million minds, or five billion minds?

Abandon China, the Soviet Union, North Korea. Look to ourselves for the guiding principles that will shape tomorrow.
