news that has been going around: bigoted powermod (and co.) take over vegan subreddit network and other subs via manipulation and coercion (/r/thelastairbender, /r/vegan, /r/zerowaste, /r/cryptocurrency)

I won't claim to have enough knowledge of this situation to make and kind of broad conclusion, but from the bits and pieces I've picked through it seems either horrendously overblown or at least wildly misguided. I don't necessarily disagree with OP, but it does seem wildly sensationalized and almost targeted at certain people who have made few, if not a single, dubious/inconsequential remarks that could be construed as offending one of those CW's. So much characterizing context is missed (even if all the conversational context is there) that it's difficult for me to feel comfortable condemning someone in this situation.

Lastly, I don't want to read into this too deeply but I've seen similar behavior many, many times in various communities on Discord. Outside of basic gaming communication, it seems to be a petri dish of power abuse and ego trips (more than most online communities)

p.s. what is an iso (not the disc image kind)
