As a long time Kinda Funny fan and a lapsed long time Adam Sessler fan I’m really disappointed in his appearance today.

This is clearly the correct take. There's plenty of context there, both from the preponderance of his life and career, as well as the immediate context of the argument he was having at the time. He was responding to people who were ostensibly more upset with the "your mom" jokes he was trotting out in arguments with Nazis than they were with the actual real world harm these monsters are causing. That was his whole point, and now the very thing he was criticizing there is coming back up here as people are, once again, more upset with how he made his point rather than the actual harm he was addressing. (Although I'm sure many of the people who are "upset" here are right wing concern trolls who can't tell the difference between Sessler's Tweet and Colin's blatant misogyny)

Sessler has always stood up for marginalized people, even when it put his career in jeopardy. I believe he's said he was raised by Marxists. His left wing cred is far more convincing than most people who attack him. Back when Sessler criticized the misogynistic "bros before hos" trophy from that God of War game, it was bad for a journalist's career to do so and the backlash he faced was immense. It was a different time back then. I don't agree with everything Sessler says and he probably could have worded that tweet a bit differently to make the same point (if for no other reason than to avoid these misunderstandings), but anyone who thinks his left wing advocacy is insincere likely does not know very much about him. This whole "controversy" is a fucking joke.
