Larry: "You believe in the lord?"

Norm: "Yes, I do."

Larry: "You believe you're going somewhere, when it ends?"

Norm: "Well.. I... I don't 'believe' it... but, what people don't understand about FAITH is that, you have to, uh, CHOOSE it. They think that you BELIEVE it. But you have to choose it."

Larry: "Choose to have faith?"

Norm: "Yes."

Larry: "That means you believe you're going somewhere. What is faith but.."

Norm: "Yeah. The same way you believe... uh,.. There's a lot of things I have faith, but... I don't really believe in DNA. Like, if I was on a... a jury, and a guy was... uh. His DNA was on this cigarette! I'd go... 'I don't know what DNA is..!' like.."

Larry: "So you don't have faith in that, haha."

Norm: "No. I don't have faith in science."

Larry: "Really??"

Norm: "Well think about it. Haven't scientists always been wrong? Like, they used to think that the sun went around the Earth?"

With context, he is using science and DNA as an example, to demonstrate his earlier point: That even though he doesn't find God and Afterlife "believable" he just, trusts that it is real. On faith. (the comparison being that he doesn't understand and doesn't believe that you can tell who somebody is based on a puddle of spit you found. That's unbelievable! But it is real.) Notice he stumbles over his words: "There's a lot of things I have faith, but.. I don't really believe."

Granted, I don't think he's very eloquently making his point. Larry King seems to be totally unable to understand him. But I think his point was that he's in disbelief over certain things, but just trusts that it works. In conclusion: Accepts DNA as being a real thing, accepts Afterlife as being real, just doesn't understand or believe how either of those things work.

I THINK that's what he was going for...

But I guess who knows he is Norm Macdonald, a fucking crazy person. lol.
