In a major win for consumers, drug pricing control advocates push back against big pharma and win. MD will be the first state on track to have a drug pricing control board in 2022.

The fact that you dismiss C. Johnson's developmental state paradigm AND the World Bank accepting that the state can play a role in development as "faux-intellectual coating" says all too much about your expertise regarding the subject. Johnson and WB papers are just extremely groundwork level papers in political economy, which I was pointing it out to you since you didn't seem to know about the theory/paradigm (and yet you claim someone else has no idea on the topic!). If you can point me to your list of works critiquing Johnson and the developmental state paradigm, I'll gladly admit I was wrong about you and perhaps gild you as a small apology.

everywhere government creates barriers to entry service gets destructively expensive and the poorest suffer

Your examples are? Again, I pointed out the error of this sweeping generalization by citing (very basic) papers, and yet you keep going at it based on... personal experience? Small tidbits you've seen here and there? Here's the fact: government can and has played positive roles in the economy, otherwise Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the likes that were classified as HPAEs would not be leading economies today. There is evidence that government intervention is not an absolute evil.

The problem is people like yourself don’t even truly understand what “capitalism” means.

It's kind of interesting to hear it from someone who hasn't read up on much of the relevant discussions going on today.

Oh and, I won't even begin to discuss the monopoly part because that just screams how myopic you are regarding this whole issue. Overall, I don't think you have the proper knowledge to claim someone has no idea what they are talking about, as you did a few comments above. To be honest that part was what irked me enough to write a few paragraphs, and this exchange only confirmed that you're at best a layman going on what few readings you've picked up over time. I hope you can get yourself to read some theories that run counter to your worldviews. At least don't attack other people claiming they have no idea. Good day!
