You know as well as everybody else that this is NOT a "happily painted lane"; it is an ideologically motivated signalling of the current cultish beliefs to be had by everybody, to be aggressively shoved in the face of everybody. It is not about acceptance and tolerance, because this has been achieved since long; it is now a symbolic act of demonstrating power and constantly enforcing to show compliance with the current belief of wokeness.

The last time we saw such a situation in Germany was the time when happy red flags with a black swastika on white ground flew in the wind, in front of every house, and the greeting was changed to hailing the leader, and everybody was forced to constantly agree with just another random set of beliefs. Today we have "gendered language" in this function.

Maybe this painting even of bike lanes fits with the full package of "hating cars" (because bicycles), getting hysterical about "the climate" (without really knowing anything), phantasizing about "sustainability" (without being an expert in anything) just to constantly show off one's moral superiority.

Nothing is "happy" in the grim aggression expressed by this "total takeover" of the public space with the symbols of the new cult. That's just what totalitarian thinking is regularly doing.
