American culture is western culture.

Americans won't believe it because most of them have never left their state, but America and Europe share a lot in common that the rest of the world does not. For one thing we are the original developed countries.

The counter intuitive thing is that you are so immersed in western/American culture that you see it as the default. Every other culture has "flavour" but yours doesn't because it is your baseline, because it is so ubiquitous and all encompassing.

The guy said "Asian pride" and "Latino pride" were allowable. Why not European or Western Pride? Europeans share a far more intertwined common heritage than "asians" do.
