How are you guys not understanding what they're saying? It's okay to disagree with what they're saying, but it's crazy to me that you don't understand what they're saying.

I'll try to repeat their point in different words. They are saying that this comment:

No no no! There is no room for nuance here!

...is constructing a fake person's viewpoint and then attacking it (hence what was meant by "strawman representations). And the commentor is saying that creating a fake person's viewpoint and then attacking it has no benefit to the conversation and only serves to make a person doing it feel good about attacking someone who doesn't exist.
