It would actually solve everything. No one needs rifles unless their job requires it. No one. None. And they won't save you from a government like the U.S. And as tyrannical as the government already is, no one is using their guns to stop it right now, so why would they in the future? Why would a government do something that would cause that when the people are almost 100% complicit of the actions the government does? Or rather, are already powerless to stop them. No amount of rifles is going to stop that. It's time to get rid of them now.

Once you take them off the market, it is that much easier to track those selling them under the table.
