The writing is always on the wall with these kind of people. You just make concessions because of the occasional cuddly coolness of their public personas.But it's all horseshit. It's just another thing that's prodding me away from the mentality I had for years where I semi idolised certain people in the public eye for being dead clever and cool.

I used to internalise it it as such a huge tragedy and failing of youth and culture that we don't really have proper rock stars anymore. Who needs 'em, though? It's such a trivial thing to hold on to at the end of the day when you read disillusionment stories like this. Music - especially metal - at its purest and most distilled is about friends making music amongst themselves and playing it in front of 20-30 people in some local pit.
