Mario themed Bitwise Control app w/normal looking layout at the end.

Someone in another thread wanted to see my custom themed remote app I built using my Bitwise Control system, so I posted it here.

This is a clip of the first iteration I made. I’ve since added movement to the Koopa wings, slowed down the cloud and now have Donkey Kong pounding his chest. There are some other pages I don’t use that have Bowser breathing fire and Mario dodging Bullet Bill, but I’ve since condensed my controller to this one page because I use URL schemes to launch device specific apps that have more functionality like Apple TV Remote, Rowmote, Sonos, Cameras…

I was using Photoshop to work on making the Apple Remote look like a Mario style mountain, but I couldn’t get it perfect and then got busy with other stuff and never finished it.

This was for my old apartment setup. I had 4 TV’s throughout the apartment that were all connected to an HDMI martrix switch with a Nintendo Switch, PS4, Apple TV and Mac Mini as my input devices. They could stream to any TV or all simultaneously.

All my equipment is rack mounted in a 22U NavePoint rack, so everything centrally located.

Because the Apple TV is the only device that really needed a jog page (I have one for the mac mini as well, but usually just use the Rowmote app), I just made that the main activity page and put the activity icons on the left. Then used pop-up pages for tv specific controls like volume, power, inputs…

I should add that you can’t make the background of the popup pages transparent, so I used Photoshop to give the illusion of transparency.
