Newb Question: Oled vs Projector

Reading some of these comments just makes me believe even more that this forum is filled with people who haven't seen a proper projector setup (in person) in years and just take the easy way out and get the best tv they can afford. New projectors are so good and affordable I think it's a no-brainer that if you are trying to achieve a theater experience you need a projector. OLED tech is definitely cool but nothing is as immersive as a projector done right.

The problem with projection is it requires the owner to set it up properly. TV's don't perform much differently depending on what room they're in. With projectors, the room and screen heavily dictate the final image. A bad room/screen can make a 10,000 PJ look like a wash of nothing, and a good room can give a $1,000 PJ a very cinema-like experience.

Really not trying to be a cynical gatekeeper. I just think setting up a theater can be a creative and interesting endeavor, whereas purchasing the best TV you can afford and setting it up in your living room is not interesting enough to warrant its own sub-reddit.
