Universal Remote Question

Most of the higher end remotes like URC or Control4 require an authorized dealer to sell and program them. Even if you could buy the remote online, you’d need the software to program it, which you can only get as a dealer. You’d also need to know how to use the software.

If it’s something you want to do yourself/not pay $800+ for I’d recommend the Harmony Elite. It’s $250 and very easy to program yourself. It comes with the hub so the remote communicates RF to the hub and the hub emits IR to the devices via strategically placed IR blasters. It also includes the phone app so you can control everything from the phone. You’ll also be able to control a number of wifi smart devices with it.

If you go with the elite I’d recommend also buying the Harmony Precision IR cable for $25. It replaces the IR blaster with individual emitters that you place directly on your equipment.
