META: 90% of posts here are images of cityscapes. Are there any other cyberpunk-inspired things that you experience day to day?

I work for a Japanese multinational conglomerate that is currently working on artificial intelligence. I'm free to move around the city, but I never did, my life in the past few years are just home -> work -> supermarket -> home - work, like bobby stuck in Barrytown always dreams aboutthe sprawl which isn't really that far away. It's like there's this invisible hand pushing me down and fix me in place.

and my wife works for a German multinational pharmaceutical company her favourite past time is constantly watching family dramas from her home country. (reminds me so much of Martha ;))

10min ago I was writing emails to a faceless intermediary that is representing my ISP regarding consent process of digging up my neighbour's driveway to install fibreoptics.

The meals I ate lately come in portion sized packs, youghurt in a plastic tube, or plastic bags with a twist top, perfectly rectangular jerky strip shrink wrapped. single serve instant coffee that was made in korea (reminds me of what bobby drank while hiding in the nightclub).

My clothes are increasingly synthetic, they almost never wrinkle, colour never fades, and always giving out this unnatural sheen..

all these are just signs that that we are getting more and more divorced from the organic reality. Ourselves, our belongings and activities are getting more cybernetic in the broad sense.. more augmented by techs.. i don't know what we would wind up as, but i surely do enjoy this process of getting there. :)
