So the old republic, but singleplayer, and good.

I loved KOTOR back in the day, but that sort of gameplay is something I can only put up with for so long. KOTOR kept me around because everything, except the fighting, was awesome. If they made gameplay that was, not really skyrim, maybe more witcher 3(simplified), skyrims melee combat isn't that great, there is a reason everyone plays stealth archer. Been playing a bit of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, so that kind of combat gameplay, set in open worlds, maybe world the size of KOTOR worlds, or more accurately like dragon age inquisition sort of maps, only set in star wars, so different planets rather than regions. I say maps like this rather than witcher 3 like maps, because you don't want each planet being too big, just a taste on each planet that is satisfying enough, but not bogging you down in one environment for too long.

Sadly i don't see any game like this coming in the near future, EA don't have any studios working on this sort of thing as far as we are aware, DICE will bring us another battlefront, Visceral you have to assume are making something more linear like uncharted, because of Amy Hennig, the original creator of uncharted. There is of course Bioware who made KOTOR, but they are finishing off Mass effect for now, and you have to imagine that team will be getting away from sci-fi for a while, and the other bioware team that works on The old republic will still be working on the old republic, and would be far away from anything new, if they make anything new again.
