[META] We need new Moderators.

Let me take a minute to try to reply to all these.

  1. A new rule has been instituted. Rule 12: Mass market manipulation schemes are not allowed. This will include these Lambo posts. However, I've seen some reports against posts for people wanting 75 cents per GRLC. Getting rid of those posts isn't necessarily fostering of a free market. You're more than allowed to go and haggle on their prices. We do have a problem with people asking for full BTC, $5 per GRLC, etc. Obvious shitposts.

  2. Downvote arrows being removed is to protect everyone. Unfortunately, near the start we had people making a new post and then downvoting everything on /new so their post would get more traction. It's actually really easy to get the downvote button back using RES. This was just a preventative measure.

  3. This is true. We as a mod team try to act professional, but this IS a memecoin, and IS meant to be fun. Treating this like the NYSE is going to be counterproductive IMO.

  4. I understand that's currently a report option. However, we've had discussions as a mod team, and we don't feel it's productive to remove every post that is a currency swap at this time. The amount of traffic this sub has received since launch has dropped drastically.

  6. None of the mods here are really focused on discord. There is one moderator on reddit that's a mod on discord, and vice versa. I don't use discord, I don't post on the discord. I am, however, actively checking reports, modmail, and updating the scammer list. As far as most of us are concerned, the GarlicMarket discord and /r/GarlicMarket are two separate entities, and should be treated as such.

That being said, we do want to provide the best environment for everyone.

Should all currency related posts (GRLC for USD/crypto and vice versa) be removed and posters directed to post in the daily thread?

Should downvote arrows be brought back?

Should any information about the GarlicMarket discord channel be removed?
