[Meta] Should we create a side bar of FAQ?

Hi, I’ve been viewing this sub-reddit for some time now. I am hoping to become a student in the fall (battling math that I haven’t taken since HS. Below are things that I’d be interested in knowing:

  1. Student success stories (been discussed a few times, but something more current would be reassuring)

  2. Where to start: should I begin learning coding/ programming, command line, reading the text, etc.

a. Ranking the best free/ open source software to use

b. Ranking best free courses to prep

  1. Which course and track is right for me? When to know if I should start with CS161 or CS165

  2. Definitions would be helpful

  3. Course syllabus/ student module (if possible)

a. Having this information may help in deciding which track is best.

  1. Maybe a graph or chart that says if you have less than X number of hours of real coding experience then you should choose track Y.

a. Define real coding

  1. The course outline for the 1.25 and 1.5 tracks.

  2. Personally, I’d be interested in an average age and level of education.

a. I’m 30, I have no formal experience in CS, and like I’m feel late to the party

  1. Motivating factor for enrolling in this program.

  2. Regional networks

  3. After earning this degree, what is your career goal (other than making min wage)?

a. Is the purpose of this degree to become management, executive, or “entry level?”

Most importantly, I don’t know what I don’t know, so anything that you stumbled upon along the way could be posted as a helpful hint.

As you can see I have a problem over analyzing things.

A lot of this may not be necessary but when asking “what should be included,” I feel there is no wrong question.
