1. Job. Finding a job, even if it is only part time, of any kind that you enjoy doing and which gives you financial resources to feel independent from ties to family money is a good place to start.
   

If that job puts you in contact with the general public in any way, so you can accurately judge what kind of reception you are getting from people who don't already know you, you will begin to realize whether you really are a well-rounded individual, or whether you need to work on yourself in some ways to become better equipped as a friend and a partner/bf.

1. Activity friends. Having activity friends that you aren't investing the entire angst of the lack of a primary romantic relationship is key/critical. Activity friends keep you busy, away from pondering inaccuracies on the internet, and hopefully, introducing you to a wide range of people, from which you can learn new things.

2. Limit your honesty in online dating profiles. Do not, under any circumstance, put ten thousand words in your tinder/ok cupid/grindr profiles.

People need to find out about you from how you think, act, behave while you are around them. If you have to have professional take pictures of you to find one that you like, do it.

Date to date, not to get laid, or fall in romantic love with the first person, or indeed, every person you date. You may meet some people who you will want to be friends or more with but who don't share your interest. Accept that at face value and move on without taking it as a personal slight.

1. Water Sports and Fishing. You live in Miami. Take advantage of it. Take lessons in whatever sounds interesting that you don't already know about. Surf fishing, deep sea, diving, jet skiing, body surfing, sailing, metal detecting, whatever. Wear sunscreen. Have fun. Being around people who are having fun is infectious and makes people enjoy being around you.

2. Alcohol and drugs. Limit your consumption. Alcohol in great quantities while dancing in gay bars can lead to kissing and other things, but unless you have a wing man you trust to watch your back, it is best to try to learn to kiss first without the juice.

3. Straight guys. Straight guys as wing men in gay bars are excellent wing men. You can get him all the hot women he wants from the bar who are pining after unattainable gay guys, and he can help you attract all the gay and bi guys who will wonder what he is doing with you, and thereby be interested in you as well.
