The Midterms and the Perils of Democracy

You’re failing to understand the nuances of the abortion problem. Like it or not, a huge number of people see this as a potential medical privacy issue that encompasses the proper role of government. I was raised in a conservative household and my parents would have never supported a ban on abortion because, under their view, it could prevent a doctor and a family from making the difficult decision to save the mother in a case of ectopic pregnancy, for instance.

That doesn’t comport with the Catholic view of abortion, and you may think it’s completely idiotic, but a significant amount of people aren’t voting for these measures because they simply want to abort children with impunity.
