Missing part of the equation when grading without LUTS

To put it simply. One of the best colorists alive uses primarily a LUT and a primary correction and that's it 95% of the time. Another (whom I haven't worked with) grades in printer points because the DP prefers that and shoots for just making minor adjustments. You'd be surprised how simplistic it can be. Most of these guys grade in such a way too that it doesn't break our workflow or slow them down significantly. If they can avoid using windows/keys/tracking they will because the process of updating and keeping everything working over a long DI can create issues that will constantly need fixing and will slow down the whole process if not careful.
