Monthly Discussion and Support Thread - July 2020

My Google account consists of my Yahoo! email address, my YouTube account, and anything I've ever created/shared in Google Drive, notes from Google Keep, etc. I'd like to add Gmail to the list and get rid of Yahoo! since I'm just not a huge fan of that email service, but at some point a weird username was linked to my Google account and I'm now being forced to use that for my Gmail address if I try making one.

I looked into seeing if I could make a new Google account and move my YT channel to that new account, but apparently you lose all of your comments in the process. I have well over 1,000... so that's not happening. I figured all hope was lost in moving to Gmail at this point, since that stupid username is irreversible and I don't want to erase 10+ years of comments.

Now that the background info. is out of the way, here's where my question lies. Google has an option to export all of your account's data and either move it to a new account or a service outside of Google. Would I be able to use that option to move all of my data to a new account and retain all of my YT data? Is it essentially a workaround to saving comments I made?

Main reason I want to do this is because I like using Google's products and transferring my Yahoo! info. to Gmail would put everything in one location (YT, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.).
