Morgan Burke to "set the record straight" at 6 PM on BTN Live

If Hazell goes, who should replace him and why do you know that coach will be better?

What exactly are Hazell's flaws and how should they be fixed?

I see a team that's one drive from beating MSU on the road. That's probably a David Blough start from beating Marshall, which was a shit scheduling job by Burke. The record sucks but that's because they didn't schedule 4 FCS schools - hardly Hazell's fault.

I see a program that Hazell took over from Hope that was almost devoid of talent. I see a team that used to punt on 4th and 1 from the opponent 35, Going for it more often and at least having the appearance of fight. I like the way this team looks way more 2012 version even if the results are worse.

This is the first year with most of Hazell's guys. 2013 left him the short stick on recruiting and last year alot of his guys were red shirted. Giving a coach three years is giving him one year to recruit and then take those freshmen he recruits, with the worst facilities in the conference, and asking him to do what? What would you call a success this season? Bowl or bust?

You mention the stomping by Illinois but that was a game they were supposed to lose. I think the score reflected some gambles the coaches took that failed. Because they had to gamble to win - gambles that lost and tilted the score.

All play calling has felt so much better the last three years but maybe that's just because I was getting tired of Tiller and Hope's bubble screens and 3rd and 12 draw plays.

Firing a second coach after three years isn't going to attract a single desirable person to the job.

Bottom line, it's easy to sit here and point out the results of what has happened. The real questions are why did that happen? And how do we fix it? I don't think firing Hazell this year, which won't happen anyway, is the answer. I'm tired of reading about how they should fire Hazell and no one has an answer besides "herrr derrr someone else!" WHO? How do you know that's better?

I'm as frustrated as you, if not more. But it's easy to point out a problem. How about proposing a solution? Until then, calm down and shoe some patience. Support your team and don't let two impulsive 18 year olds drive you nuts. A good basketball season, new training facilities and having two years worth of Hazell's guys thru the system should mean good things for next year. At least they have Cincy and Nevada at home, starting all three games next year at home.
