So all this is saying is you may have to have a 3000 series or older CPU in order to update the BIOS first before you can use the 5000 series CPU. If you plop a 5000 series CPU in and you try to post (start up the system) for the first time you may not get anything to display on your monitor. I’d check with Gigabyte and see what their tech specs say for that specific motherboard in regards to 5000 series if it’s ready to go out of the box. I’ll save you some time and tell you it most likely will require a BIOS flash/update before you can use your 5000 series. I just looked it up and it’s saying BIOS version F10 or newer for 5000 series. Most MOBO’s ship with earlier versions of BIOS. So safe to assume you’d need a 3000 series of CPU as well to do your initial post.
