My buddy made this Doritos commercial last year; it didn't win, but I feel it deserved a little more love.

Wow. The dog one is utter garbage. Do dogs like Doritos?... Particularly? I've never seen dogs raiding corn fields late at night. They don't often put corn-based products as baits on those things that go round at the greyhound racing as far as I know. And dogs in a costume with terrible cgi is about as lame as all those kids movies everyone hates where dogs talk - 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' anyone? Going on an age-inappropriate date because Dortios is so weak as an idea, I don't even know where to begin - could the stakes be any lower? Imagine the hi-jinks kids - once the Doritos are gone, granny might try to kiss him and that would be really funny and gross because old people can't have babies and she probably smells like lavender. How long does it take to come up with that idea? From experience, I can confidently say that's around the third concept that an average person would think of, not some edgy idea to win a national competition for a cool brand. The American accent by the Aussie woman in the baby one is cringetastic and kids don't eat solid food for a year. How's that little sprog gonna go with no teeth or proper digestive tract and the laundry list of chemicals once he eats that CC that he made himself be born prematurely for, even though he couldn't possibly have known what it was? Best of the sad bunch is the arm - points for being surreal but it all feels very, very familiar - like a cheap skittles knockoff. The fact is, these things tend to be put together by production companies and a lot more time needs to be spent on the ideas and the scripts. That's why advertising agencies exist. Gimme a skittles commercial any day.
