My mom "might" be getting scammed, looking for advice

the domain name for the bank’s web site was created on 7/21/17.)

Yeah i noticed that as well. clearly something is fishy about the bank. If you click on news, theres a bunch of headings from 2011.

I think it would be VERY interesting for you to go to the bank’s web site and log in using the username/password/pin to log in, and see what happens

Yes you can log in, takes you to the account holders summary which has a million euro in it. Option to transfer it as well, with bank, name, account, swift. No hint that this will cost (so far)

Alternatively, the bank's web site may require her to authorize an "advance fee" payment from her bank to the scammer's bank, and maybe THAT is the scam.

Yes that was my first initial thought, but it would have to be over $500 for the scammer to even make his money back, because thats how much he spent on her so far.

Thats what doesnt make sense to me, it all seems to elaborate for not much money, unless the plan is to get into her bank account, which also is a bit odd, because he knows she doesnt have any money.

Are you 100% sure that your mother actually met this guy in real life?

Havnt met him, but she told me about him and their dates. My moms pretty straight up, also quite shaken because they apparently got quite close, talked daily via text and phone, he lives close by so they went on lots of dates, he always paid for them, always offered her money for things and she thinks he died now.

Its really weird... Their relationship seems very plausible, him dying seems plausible, Him asking her during that time if he could put her as next of kin on a new bank account, seems plausible.

The Bank however, is a giant red flag.

Im struggling to see how he can make any substantial amount of money out of this for the time and money he has already spent on her.
