Netflix stands by Dave Chappelle despite criticism over trans remarks

No, the rhetoric and perpetuation of that rhetoric are the problem. It doesn't seem like the special meaningfully subverted any of that rhetoric, so it's just a famous guy spouting rhetoric that hurts people and telling them to fuck off when they criticize him. Didn't he express grievances with the LGBT movement for "pulling the white card"? Seems kinda weird when he's literally pulling the comedian card to dodge criticism, then the rich card to avoid the consequences while trans people, who already had to deal with transphobia as it had been, now have to deal with it having been reinforced by him to his defenders. "I have a black friend" is plainly recognized as an empty defence for racism, so why is "I had a trans friend" acceptable here? Wasn't there an "I'm on team TERF" comment somewhere in the special as well? Who is actually laughing along to that while knowing the weight behind those words?
