Unless grandpa here is from the future... I'm having a hard time believing he had all that modern gear on that is displayed in the shadow.

My family fought and some died in WW2 and the conflicts that followed. They didn't have body armor or any advanced technology by today's standards. They stepped onto the battlefield wearing little more than BDUs, helmet and a gun. They didn't know exactly where their enemy was. All they knew is the enemy was out there and they had to fight them. They didn't have advanced medical treatment either.

They fought and millions died so their families and country could be free. Now these ignorant liberals are wearing soviet flags and preaching about things they can't even comprehend. It makes me so mad.

My grandfather once heard my daughter crying as a baby and it startled him so badly. He was so worried something had happened to her. When I asked him about it later he opened up to me and told me about how they would take PBR boats up riviers looking for vietcong. They would locate the village they were supposed to be at and try to capture officers to interrogate. (They played cards to see who got the officer's pistol and they would drag bodies behind their PBR.) He told me about entering a village where the Vietcong were supposed to be but they had already left. Somehow they knew the men with green faces were coming and fled but not before slaughtering the villagers. A few of the children were still alive. Their parents had hid them before the vietcong arrived and seeing them crying over the corpses of their dead parents was something that haunted my grandfather till the day he died. My grandfather was a strong man. So to see him suffer through the memories was something I'll never forget.

As a kid I never understood why someone would want to live in the country. Nothing is around and it's so quiet. As an adult with PTSD it all makes sense now. I don't know why they call it a disorder. You see enough shit and it'll make perfect sense.
