Honestly I think that Pokemon has been releasing less trailers because of how we reacted to early trailers in the past. If we look back at the Sword and Shield reveal, we expressed a lot of dissatisfaction with not only the national dex being cut, but even the graphics of the game. People were criticizing the trees in the wild area for not looking good as well as the render distance of Pokemon. If we look at BDSP, we had people criticizing not only the chibi art style, but the low fidelity battle backgrounds and trainer battle models. All of these things created controversies in the community, and I think that Pokemon is trying to steer away from the possibility of any negative reactions to early pre-release trailers. Noted, BDSP updated the battle backgrounds and trainer battle models, although Sword and Shield didn’t get much fixed in terms of what I mentioned. I think they’re putting more work into the game before releasing trailers to avoid these controversies, potentially by not risking to show us too much so we don’t small unfinished things to nitpick.
