Auto Caption Transcript #7

57:35 - three minutes here now the questions keep coming in and we'll answer those last ones uh via
57:40 - email um okay uh do you plan on bringing back the
57:46 - short clips individual fight videos uh about a month ago you uploaded a bunch of highlighted fights that seemed
57:51 - like they would be part of a series and then stopped yes we plan on bringing these back um it was you know a test and
57:56 - trial run and then uh you know focused our energy on on marketing the stream and we'll do more and bring them back
58:03 - for sure but i'm glad you like them and uh it seemed like everyone else liked them so awesome um i see some quick ones
58:09 - judges decisions scorecards we're working on a way to embed that in the wiki so that people can see what all those judges results are
58:16 - we've logged it all so we should be able to share it would we consider having two to three
58:21 - sets of judges to swap out um we did actually have two sets of judges uh at
58:27 - this past event for cage five and then for the mainstream uh i think yeah we're trying to just figure out how we best
58:33 - staff these events uh overall it's a long day and you know as we adjust the length of the event as well your
58:39 - thoughts on that will by running multiple cages simultaneously it means we now you know need a minimum
58:44 - of six judges uh and we're looking again if you're interested in being a judge
58:49 - especially if you've competed in this stuff before reach out let us know but we need more team for that
58:56 - and all this stuff takes team to make it happen it does um i think the sub tournaments question uh
59:06 - yeah like we've kind of already answered that around you know how we would best do it uh
59:11 - and then logic and inspiration behind multibot bonus multibots are awesome uh i also think uh having the multibot
59:19 - bonus match the size of the weight class below you is interesting uh so
59:24 - um with the three pound robots lots of people build one pound robot so you can bring a one pound robot and it's boom
59:29 - ready to go could be your multibot uh 12 pound robots oh look your three pound can be the multibot uh 30 pound that
59:36 - gets a little scary so had to adjust um but but you get the idea and that was that was sort of the
59:42 - logic behind where we set that um and i still think there's a whole lot people can do with multibots that bought the
59:49 - fought last year called that was made up of a whole bunch of three pound robots did incredibly well i'd love to
59:54 - see a whole bunch of one pound robots come fight in the three pound class like i think there's real opportunity to do
59:59 - interesting things with the multi-bot weight bonus complete compilation videos by weight
1:00:05 - class so wondering if we can put all of the 3s 30s and 12s into their own videos
1:00:13 - certainly an idea and we can try something like that i think you know all these things are just a trial and error
1:00:18 - process right now and trying to figure out the best uh way for us to allocate production dollars cool all right um
1:00:25 - there are the last two one of them is a shout out so thank you and then the other one is for you kelly
1:00:31 - which oh i missed the start of the stream who who am i but more your background because all
1:00:38 - they know is your name is kelly biederman and you're the ceo of norway that is true um i'm a mystery woman uh
1:00:45 - so i uh my background is not in robotics or
1:00:50 - combat robotics at all my background is in media i spent almost 10 years working at the
1:00:56 - wall street journal and several years working for katie kirk's media company before meeting austin
1:01:01 - last summer and we started talking about you know norwalk havoc and he told me i
1:01:09 - would be crazy to come and join this league uh but that he was looking for somebody to help scale it and monetize
1:01:16 - it and turn it into all the things that we've been talking about here today and i was crazy enough to say sure let's do it and
1:01:23 - uh so i came on board in the fall and um you know i i've been really
1:01:30 - just inspired by the community i've been learning so much
1:01:35 - but i felt generally very welcomed by you know everyone that i've encountered
1:01:40 - and uh i'm just really excited to see where we can take this but yeah my my background is is in media and
1:01:47 - sponsorships and trying to get dollars behind content yeah and i think a growing audience and
1:01:53 - you sell yourself short a little bit that a lot of it is the storytelling component and so
1:01:58 - like my personality i'm i don't care for the i'm just like let's just fight robots um but but the story is such a
1:02:06 - big part of it and and it's telling that story that's going to actually grow this sport uh and grow that audience and grow
1:02:13 - the sport beyond just havoc robotics beyond norwalk beyond any of this stuff like this has the potential to be a
1:02:19 - really big deal and i think that's the piece that got you hooked a little bit uh and so
1:02:24 - yeah you're at the ground floor of like how do i build the foundation so i can tell the story on top of it but it's
1:02:30 - that storytelling component that you're the expert at thank you austin i uh don't like talking about myself so i
1:02:36 - appreciate you doing it for me all right no worries well thank you all so much for tuning in and uh this was fun we
1:02:43 - survived uh we didn't need to call an emergency commercial break for any reason and uh hopefully we'll be
1:02:49 - chatting with everybody again soon and if not uh sign up to fight in april if you've got a robot or something that
1:02:55 - resembles a robot and otherwise tune in in april and be sure to subscribe to both nhl the ocho and our regular stream
1:03:01 - thank you again bye everyone thanks
