Sad... if they really said this, it's honestly really easy to imagine it being genuine because it's true though that at that point, evidences and truths are irrelevant in the real world sometimes, especially in high places of power and influence like the Hollywood and Politics. A lot of the times "truth" becomes dictated by influence, power, and what people think and believe in, whether it's true or not is irrelevant (one example of these are propagandas and fake news). Just the fact that he was accused of domestic abuse by an influential woman as a man, is enough to potentially bring prejudice to anyone who involve themselves with him, it doesn't matter if he was framed or not, people have their own interests and wanna play it safe and not risk it.
