what i have learned over the years, especially here, is that bad vs good tend to obfuscate and confuse the issues.

fantasy and reality are often blurred. the idea that it is "just fantasy" has been used to excuse all kinds of horrible things. especially in porn. alot of it is not fantasy. a lot of it is filmed rape. one of the biggest kink sites that birthed a lot of other kinksters who made a lot of other kink sites, has a documentary about it where they literally describe being raped in a scene , boundaries violated. consent not received. but the documentarians don't seem to understand what they have produced. and the viewers presumably do not either. fantasy and reality have blurred so much for these people they cannot see reality when its staring them straight in the face, stating itself in the most plain terms possible.

one of the techniques of narcissistic abusers, cult leaders, etc, is gaslighting, which is the blurring of fantasy and reality. to confuse one about which is which.

we see it with Louis CK where power imbalance becomes completely oblivious to some people, where they cannot understand that consent is not given freely if ones entire career depends upon the answer. the fantasy is the question, the reality is the result. the fantasy was that there was free consent. but the reality is there was not.

the delineation of fantasy and reality is one of the most important issues of human existence.
