Noob Plays Quake 3 - Includes my best match yet!

I accidentally deleted my last several-paragraph-long comment so I'll write this in a far more condensed form:

Seeing you play from match one up until now has been really cool. I've wanted to study the influx of new players that Quake Champions has attracted to find out what made them interested in the series and what they like/dislike about it. I've brought three of my friends into the game and only one of them still plays to this day. He's the only one who put in the time to learn the weapons and pickups, and got a foot in the door of the basics of movement.

The other two wanted to jump straight into the action, bypassing all the fine details in favor of a fast induction into the action. I believe this is where the personality types associated with success in the arena appear: those who are methodical in their learning and who value personal success, and those who are looking for the instant gratification a lot of modern games provide. Neither are bad, but one is very well suited for the oft overwhelming lands of Quake, the other is not.

I hope you continue on with this series as your tireless persistence in wanting to improve and your interest in the visual and spiritual aesthetic of the Quake universe are staples of what make a good Quake player. Best of luck to you.
