Office make-up

I'm more of a nude lip person with cheek tints and at my first workplace I was surrounded by a set of colleagues who used to be no makeup or mild makeup (eyeliner or an understated lipstick) for special occasion. So I used to feel like over the top sometime. Then during a merge we got some newbies in our pool, from which two ladies really stood out. They both like bold statement lippies. One of the lady always wore a true red lippie and she was oh so beautiful. The other one did an awesome base makeup and wore these wonderful bright lipsticks which brought a lovely glow to her complexion. I'm an introvert, so I used to just admire them from afar during meetings. Then one day I heard some 'time pass' remarks between some of the fellow colleagues about the red lip ladies choice of lipstick while taking photo copies. I just kept listening and when I was finished with copying, I decided to say something. I commented about how I admire her confidence and if only I had the confidence to pull of a color like that. Most of them like and respect me due to my postion and general interaction with them. So I knew it would make an impact. Then I gave them all the copies of my next meeting session and made my exit. I went ahead and complimented those two ladies after a meeting while there was still a few onlookers. Later on, I slowly started to work on the others by giving them positive reinforcements when they would try something new with appearance. I used to love how they started to experiment with themselves and generally be happy about it. Fast forward, a lot of them (the ones who didn't wear makeup) got converted to wearing makeup, the ones who did started to up their game. Some started to approach me or the two ladies to know more about it. I even bought some myself and gave it as gifts to those who wanted to try but was clueless about it or felt guilty about spending money for themselves (sad, I know). I'm in no way telling everybody should wear makeup. To each it's their own. It's just that, most people actually loves to do it but is reluctant due to how society may perceive it. This manifests itself as harsh comments of envy to those who does wear makeup. So, there is always a chance that you could make a change. Nonetheless, you be you. Also, when I say makeup it doesn't necessarily mean a ten fold foundation, contour combo. It just means a blush eyeliner or lip combo. Hope this helps :)
