Just imagine if Lenglet didn’t concede that penalty against Cadiz. Or all those other goals we gifted at the beginning of the season. We are truly fortunate to be in the position that we are. 1 point off the top of the table and in the CDR final.

It feels different now. The mindset has definitely changed. We began the season content with qualifying for Europe but as we have found our foot and made a push for the league, anything but finishing first is seen as a failure. I don’t entirely think it is. Madrid is a better team than us. For the past couple of years they have had a more complete, cohesive team that has an answer in almost every big game, especially against us. But we fought. And I honestly didn’t think they were that much better than us tonight. They were more clinical and a little more fortunate with their second goal. But giving these youngsters in our team a taste of what it is like playing against Madrid and fighting for a league championship is great. I’m excited for the future. We definitely have to be active in the transfer market this summer. We have some must adds such as a 9, athletic midfielder, a left back, and a center back. We need reliable players who thrive in big games. Look at Fede. I haven’t seen him play poorly in one clásico yet. He makes us pay every time we play them. We need players who are up for the fight. I trust in Laporta. We can get it done and get back to the top of the world again. And the league is not done yet. Madrid has a tendency to drop points against lesser teams such as Cadiz. Their remaining schedule, especially the last 4ish games, are tough. If I had to bet who was gonna to finish 1st, it would be them, but I’m not going to give up hope. I will always believe.
