I know I have blaugrana-tinted glasses, but the refereeing scandal seems that potentially Barça is more of a victim--rather than Barça paying bribes to fix matches it seems that maybe Enriquez Negreira was extorting the team for payments or else he would damage them in some way (leaks of wrongdoing, reputational damage, etc.). Or maybe a "pay-to-play" scheme where Barça was told they'd be left out in the cold (for example, that they'd be damaged by refereeing decisions rather than receiving a benefit) if they didn't make the payments.

Questions I have: Is there clear evidence that other teams weren't paying these fees or that Enriquez Negreira wasn't shaking them down for money? Is there any evidence that the money paid to Enriquez Negreira was getting passed on to the referees who were actually making decisions (highly doubtful considering the sums we are talking about) or that some other favorable decision was made in Barça's favor (referee selection for certain matches)?

The fact that this story has received a muted reaction from La Liga and other teams leads me to believe that this has been known about for some time and Barça is not the only team involved.
