According to OKCupid data, attraction to Asian men increased the most, from 2009 to 2014, due to how Asian women perceived them. That was also the period of Psy, Walking Dead, Jeremy Lin, rise of Asian youtubers and Kpop websites hitting Asian women in Western markets. A person sees around a million ads by the time they're 18. So women in the West will see how many positive AM images from the general media? Less than 1000 most likely, some girls less than 10.

Evidence of so many self-hating AW, and their relatively high rate of STDs, is evidence that it's a pyschological weapon. Until then, we need to be very aware of how racist HollyJewd is. They are the #1, #2, #3 generator of mass negative Asian male perception.

Consider the following.

How many attractive Asian-American female characters have you seen on television with an attractive Asian-American men, where they're both fluent in English?

How many AA that you know could even come up with 5?

I feel seeing our problems in this way makes focusing on self improvement even more of an imperative.

Everyone here already agrees with that, but let's not confuse what the greater issue is. Asian men didn't all of the sudden get jacked and changed how Asian men were all of sudden better received by Asian women in OKCupid's data.

If stereotypes reflected reality, we'd see how overweight all non-Asians were on TV. 2/3rds of the non-Asian adult population is overweight or obese. 1 in 3 men are OBESE. It's an epidemic and unless obesity is NATURALLY attractive to women, it seems this doesn't dominate how we perceive other races. Fat white men are still lovable, funny, and somehow still get the girl.

While it's Asian men who get literally every negative stereotype. Even Asian male dominant characteristics such as being smart or educated is turned into a negative in the media. Asians are good at STEM traits, so STEM traits are portrayed negatively towards women. However, if there is a cool STEM character in media, guess what race he historically hasn't been? Asian or Indian. Image is everything.

Ever see that show Lost, with an Asian couple? The AM in the show is an Asian-American English speaker, but his character is an abusive Korean speaker. The AF in the show is a foreign actress, but her character gets all the English dialogue. They're on an island, but apparently all the other males walk around with without their shirts on, while it took seasons for the AM to take off his shirt. No wonder he was so hesitant with his 6-pack. Yeah, that shit makes perfect sense.

I have zero care or expectation that Hollywood will change. The industry is filled with a bunch of extremely highly educated people. The idea that there isn't an agenda and not pushing certain images for a desired effect is so absurd and naive.
