Do people ever tell you that you think too much or suggest you "turn your mind off" for a movie or something? What have you noticed about those people?

By incubate I mean that I can name no less than 5 instances of friends or family completely disappearing into their meds. These are people I knew for years before and since their drug habit. In 3 of the cases the drug of choice was adderall. In one it's a combination of Rittalin and a few others.

Being on psych meds was just never taboo here. And as far as the change I can point to each person and say "we used to talk about things and now you just talk about TV." Or "you used to make art and now you just buy stuff."

If you want specific examples there was my friend who got on adderall a few years ago. I've known him for about 15 years. Used to be very political. Introduced me to Chomsky. Used to do street art. After a few months on Adderall he bought this huge screen TV and a bunch of games. Now... he was in his 40's and had never so much as played pacman (or owned a tv) in the ten years I knew him. All of a sudden he was obsessed with COD playing it 4 hours a day.

He also used to make music, sometimes we jammed. Now he just... like he just does what he calls "tests" where its like he'll find some really complex algorithm or filter to run a patch through and hunt down really specific and obscure sounds for his synths and post 1 minute "tests." That are like.. "hey here is a kurzweiler run through 4 types of distortion with a flange ONLY ON THE HIGH END, it's a C Major chord progression in 6/8 time. he has dozens of these. They're unlistenable.

We used to talk politics, one of the wisest things he said once was about our local papers "The sun is written for a 5th grade reading level where as the journal is written for about 7th graders." I repeated that back to him after he was sky high on adderall and he said that doesn't even make sense. Because actually the journal does some 'really brilliant work' and drops references to "all the greats" of philosophy? Like wtf? 2 years ago he was pointing out that they're all corporate owned rags, now he is celebrating circle jerk references to dead philosophers? And I mean like i said. I knew this guy at least ten years before the pills.

Every story I have is like this. As far as I can tell Adderall seems to turn people into functional jibtechs. Obsessions with details and minutia. Math and references. I watched one girl go from being a blogger and free lance writer to completely dropping all of that and becoming a really pedantic copy editor for a company that produces instruction manuals. Her bookshelves are now lined with manuals on grammer and semantics and structure. She used to be an aspiring writer and now she's essentially a code moneky.

And once again this is anecdotal but they all went from not watching TV to LOVING THE LIVING SHIT* out of the big bang theory.
