Pep Talk: Your Age When Starting Makeup Is Irrelevant

Exactly, I don't get a self-conscious vibe from people who post who have started later either!

If anything a PSA needs to go out to all the perfectly attractive girls who insist on adding 6000000000 caveats to their title and the captions of their submissions for some reason.. like ladies, youre prettier than you think you are, stop apologizing for your damn face!

"I'm so sorry for the effed up eyebrows" perfect eyebrows..

"I was trying to show you my lips I didn't mean to do it this way" is doing fish face, which is totally fine, but we don't even develop/print these photos, and I know that you did not post to thousands of strangers without considering the photo first. Please give us all a break, no one cares about the life story behind why you chose duck face and we don't judge you for using it. BUT... I will downvote immediately when a poster is obviously lying about needless stuff like that. I know it's petty, but it just bugs me. When they look flawless and are like "sorry I look like shit, sorry my lips are super bright, sorry I was trying something new" like yea that's okay,

stop sorrying, its an all-CC sub. if you need to be sorry about something, the commentators will let you know (usually, pretty nicely too!).

"Sorry for the side angle I just threw it together" noooo you didn't. if you had noticed and actually not wanted to post it that way, your phone or your camera would lose no life or quality by snapping a second photo.

"sorry for the lame selfie" *honey, most of us are not having our roommates husbands sit there and do extensive photoshoots for each post.. they're all selfies, cut it out.

The counter argument is obviously that to the poster who might not have good self esteem or something, they don't see it this way. Totally possible, however again... this is a makeup sub with constructive criticism allowed for every single post. If you really want to hear people's honest opinions of your looks, stop drawing our attention to random problems that don't even exist, and please take agency of your duck face, your angle, your products, your background, whatever..stop apologizing for things that aren't to be apologized for. I understanding apologizing for iPhone quality and all of that because it makes the purpose of the sub harder to achieve, but
