PhD advisor accused me of misconduct...???

It's definitely messy and I don't want to make a case on it; my point remains solely that OP is admitting to trying to take data public in a manner to which the PI didn't agree and before it's been made public in the manner to which they did agree - that to me is definitely not "100%" (I know you agree on this, I'm just trying to reiterate that my position isn't ultimately about deciding who is/isn't right - just emphasizing that it's a lot less clear than the poster I was responding to claims).

Also, and totally unrelated, but if you're wondering how to do the quotes in reddit, if you begin a line with > it will insert it as a quote. You may already know this, but I thought I'd mention it in case you didn't. Cheers.
