please don't tell anyone how I live

Sometimes the networking you have immediate access to is very much worth it, I used to work in central London before we grew tired of the city lifestyle and moved to the country as everywhere went remote due to the pandemic and it's been very obvious how little i get looped into certain contracts, etc simply because i'm not there in person to hear the initial chatter, etc.

I'm very happy out here, and my mortgage is a fraction of my London rent for a property magnitudes the size but i know for a fact it's going to have longterm impact on the progression of my career going forward not being directly involved in all the various networking aspects my role entails if you're local, like going out for drinks with clients, etc.
