The main thing I dislike is that a lot of Pokemon fanfiction don't feel like one big adventure, but more like seperate anime episodes (including sweatdrops, swirls in eyes, opbjects like Misty's mallet Being pulled from nowhere, and a singing Team Rocket).

More things I dislike in Pokemon fanfiction are Ash getting legendaries, getting overused Pokemon like Riolu or OP Pikachu, getting Pokemon that he should't be able to handle like aerodactyl, Pokemon always knowing convenient egg moves, and Pokemon being OP without any training.

I realize that aura Ash and psychic Ash are 2 really popular things in Pokemon fanfiction but it's something that is in my opinion usually badly written and turns me away from a story quickly.

I'm sorry if this feels like a rant, but it was lol. I don't want to turn you away from writing fanfiction but I'm starting to get sick of starting to read something that looks promising, only for it to become clear it's horrible when I'm a few chapters in. This is also why I normally stick to Reading Harry Potter fanfiction.
