Previous Meeting

The last time these teams met was May 22, 2015 for week 12 of the MLS season. Columbus started off strong with Kei Kamara opening scoring in the 8th minute. The goal came as Justin Meram slipped a pass through the Chicago defense to Ethan Finlay who was able to put the ball in front of Kamara. Kei tapped the ball past Fire GK Jon Busch.

Kei Kamara would get his brace in the 55' with a header, as Frederic0 Higuain sent a corner kick to the head of George who tipped the ball across the 6 yard line into the path of Kamara.

Crew's second goal ignited the flames under Fire's shoes and they quickly had an answer. Kennedy Igboananike sprinted up the left side of the field and crossed to Davad Accam. Accam tipped the ball into the opposite corner of the net leaving Crew Keep Clark scrambling to the ground.

Chicago found their equalizer late in the 94th minute as Eric Gehrig(Former Crew Defender) made a last-ditch effort, crossing the ball into the 6 yard box to Jason Johnson who was able to nod the ball into the net.

It was a pretty exciting match that up until the last moment looked to be going Crew's way. The teams would draw leaving Chicago with 11pts and Columbus with 15.
